While working at Landor Associates, I joined the Canadian Airlines branding team. The identity was a 1.5 year-long process from discovery to design, then refinement, and finally to implementation. I still consider the branding exercise to be one of my favorite projects. It's not every day you can create a global brand for an airline; the identity system, work with paint vendors for planes and trucks, pick fabrics for the seat and even design the toilette items. Not long after we launched the brand publicly, it was purchased by British Airways.
